REMOVING OF WINDOWS GENUINE ADVANTAGE

i think the one problem tht we have successfully solved is ho 2 get rid of the msg "your windows is note genuine". but if u r still getting tht notification i suggest u use these tips.

REASON U R SEEING THT NOTIFICATION
well evry copy of window is configured to download automatic
windows updates, so ur comp mst hv downloaded some update called
KB905474 which triggered tht notification.

HOW TO REMOVE IT!
METHOD 1
#1)Reboot in safe mode (press F8 repeatedly on restart)

#2)Search for wga* to find all files with wga in the filename.
Remove wgasetup.exe file – probably located in C:\Windows\
Prefetch

#3)Restart and enjoy.

METHOD 2
#1)Lauch Windows Task Manager.

#2)End wgatray.exe process in Task Manager.[under process tab)

#3)Restart Windows XP in Safe Mode.

#4)Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32.

#5)Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32\dllcache.

#6)Lauch RegEdit.

#7)Browse to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify
#9)Delete the folder ‘WgaLogon’ and all its contents

#10)Reboot Windows XP.

You can remove it through Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>
Scheduled Tasks then just delete the wgasetup.job task.]
But please make sure to go to task manager to completely remove any
active processes of wga before trying to delete the files in prefetch
and job task. Afterward, please empty trash can to rid yourself of that
pest.

METHOD 3
Another alternative is by using System Restore to
restore the PC to a previous restore point that WGA Notifications
hasn’t kicked in, and then carefully stop KB905474 from been applied
to the system. To use System Restore, go to Start -> All Programs ->
Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.

METHOD 4
go to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and rename the files ‘WgaLogon.dll’ and
‘WgaTray.exe’ but 1st disabl wga using unlocker.

METHOD 5
#1)go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
\Windows Genuine Advantage\data

#2)Go to Tools -> Folder Option -> View.

#3)Select (click) Show Hidden Files and Folders option.

#4)Unselect (uncheck) Hide Protected Operating System Files option.
Click OK.

#5)Delete everything in the data folder.

#6)Right click on data folder, and select Properties.

#7)Select (Check) Read-Only as the folder’s atributes.

#8)Click OK or Apply.
