Police arrested a 19-year-old man at Heathrow airport on Saturday on suspicion of preparing for acts of terrorism.
Officers from the Metropolitan police's counter-terrorism command, SO15, said they were holding the man in custody in south London and that they had searched an address in Camden, in the north of the capital.
They said the arrest was "not in response to any immediate risk or threat" and that their investigation is ongoing.
